PEDL 133 (Petroleum Exploration Development License)

Composite Energy currently holds a 49 per cent interest in License PEDL 133, located in central Scotland. The license area is 500kmē and incorporates the Kincardine Coal Basin; Stirling, Clackmannanshire, Perth & Kinross, Fife, Falkirk and West Lothian councils cover the spread of the licence.

Between 2004 and 2006 conducted a number of different activities, key to understanding the potential of the Coal Bed Methane resource contained in licence PEDL 133.

The information gathered during this period provided the basis on which to proceed with a wider pilot test of the coals in the area.

In 2006 Composite reached agreement with BG Group Plc to enter into a joint venture relationship in respect of PEDL 133.

The funds committed to the JV were focussed on achieving an appraisal well drilling programme and a pilot development, including on-site power generation and a permanent water disposal facility.

Composite believes that it has multiple commercialisation options for the methane in the Central Scotland area when production begins in early 2008. The PEDL 133 licence has excellent access to local, regional and national power and gas infrastructure, and in the region there is substantial local industrial demand including electricity generation, manufacturing, and chemicals.
