Composite Energy Completes 10th UK 13th Round Exploration Well in Year-Long Drilling Campaign

Composite has completed half of the 20 obligation wells granted in the UK 13th Licensing Round at the close of a year-long drilling programme. The licenses were granted approval in September 2008 and the first wells, drilled in October 2008, were spudded within 2 months of the grant of the licences. The 10 well programme has sampled coals in each of our UK areas: Scotland, East Midlands, Chester/Wrexham and S Wales enabling an evaluation of the best CBM potential in the portfolio. The continuous drilling programme, performed by our wholly-owned subsidiary, Geometric Drilling, was made possible by the delivery of 63 land deals and 45 planning consents through our in-house Surface Management group.
